Since its inception on January 25,2021, Real Life Drama LLC has been a beacon of hope and inspiration in an industry often marred by violence, disrespect, and misrepresentation. Our mission was born out of a desire to counteract the harmful messages prevalent in television, rap songs, novels, and visual arts, which disproportionately target those living at or below the poverty level. We recognized the profound impact these messages have on children, shaping their beliefs and perceptions as they grow into adulthood. In a world where conversations about self-respect, compassion, and empathy are often lost or disconnected, we saw an opportunity to make a difference.

Our founder, Steven “Kamikazi” Jones, also known as Malik Kazi Jones, brings a wealth of experience to the table. With a respected 24-year career in the hip-hop community as a writer, performer, and record company founder, Kamikazi has a deep understanding of the industry. In 2001, he co-founded Realizme Entertainment, which quickly rose to prominence in the Bay Area. Despite facing significant challenges, including the declining health of Realizme’s CEO and the wrongful conviction of two of its core artists, Kamikazi persevered. He has recorded songs with multi-platinum producers and artists, sold over 300,000 records independently, and written and directed several stage plays. As an author, he has penned the best-selling Capo series, which is currently being adapted into a screenplay by a team of writers, including Kamikazi himself.
